Spark Mag is a project of Demand Progress, a national grassroots group with more than two million affiliated activists who fight for basic rights and freedoms needed for a modern democracy. We created Spark Mag to highlight and financially support artists and musicians who are promoting progressive and radical ideals through their work.

Every week we will feature a selection of musicians and other artists. Each artist will have a profile or interview, and some will have work available for sale directly through our site. A small percentage of each sale (generally 10%) will go to supporting Demand Progress, and the rest will go directly to the artists. It’s a new way to support political art and political organizing at the same time.

The views expressed on Spark Mag are the opinions of the authors alone.
